Coordinate academic projects, independent research, and employment opportunities for individual students, student and campus groups. Collaborate with selected exhibition teams to integrate new technologies into installations in support of established learning goals for the project. Establish, develop, maintain an education-focused website for the Cantor Arts Center, incorporating contributed content from curatorial and education staff, Stanford faculty and students, and other sources as appropriate. Collaborate with education and other staff to develop alternative information delivery systems for campus, visitors, and the public. Participate in other shared departmental duties.

The Visitor Service Supervisor works collaboratively with key staff and volunteers to ensure effective service to Cantor Arts Center visitors and serves as an advocate for visitors. Includes oversight of Lobby and Information Desk visitor services; training, enrichment, and recruitment of Lobby and Information Desk volunteers; coordination of communications between other volunteers, staff, and Lobby and Information Desk volunteers as needed. Communicates with the public, Center educators, volunteers, docents, and staff by telephone, written correspondence, and in-person communication to assure coordination of visitor services and to resolve issues and questions related to Visitor Services. Assists with PR responsibilities as needed.

The McMurtry Curator of Drawings, Prints, and Photography, an endowed position, reports to the Director and is responsible for the development of this area of the collection, reviewing and redefining its scope when appropriate. The Cantor Arts Center is integral to a major research university and the Curator works with the members of the academic community as teacher, facilitator, and museum professional. We are looking for a creative individual who enjoys contributing in a team-oriented environment, and will thoughtfully transmit his or her knowledge, ideas, and enthusiasm to visitors, volunteers, students, faculty, and staff.

Position Title: Preparator Assistant
Under the direction and supervision of the museum’s preparators, and working with other CAC staff registrars and curators, the preparator assistant will learn and undertake standard and certain specialized practices for handling, mounting, installing, and storing works of art in various media, as well as preparing gallery spaces and furnishings.
